Privacy Policy

Savanna Connect ("we", "us") provides hospitality management software to hosts across Africa. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over your data.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: name, email, phone, country, profile photo.
• Host operations data: property details, bookings, guest contact records, messages, calendars, payouts.
• Payment data: handled by licensed processors (M-Pesa, Pesapal, Stripe). We store transaction references, not card numbers.
• Device & usage data: IP address, browser, pages viewed, diagnostic logs.

2. How we use your data

• Run the service you signed up for (channels, bookings, guest messaging, payouts).
• Protect the platform against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
• Send service announcements, billing notices, and (with consent) product updates.
• Meet legal and tax obligations in the countries where we operate.

3. Sharing

We share data with sub-processors strictly to deliver the service: cloud hosting, payment processors, SMS/WhatsApp providers, email delivery, and OTAs you connect (e.g. Airbnb, Booking.com). We never sell personal data.

4. Data retention

We keep host and guest records for as long as your account is active and for the statutory retention period afterwards (typically 7 years for financial records). You may request earlier deletion subject to legal hold.

5. Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time from Settings → Account, or by emailing privacy@savannaconnect.africa. Guests can submit a data request via the public guest privacy portal.

6. Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access to production systems is scoped, logged, and protected by multi-factor authentication.

7. International transfers

We operate from data centres in the EU and South Africa. Where data crosses borders we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards.

8. Children

The service is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

Material changes will be announced in-app and, where required, will require renewed acceptance before continued use.
